IGN Review

April 22, 2009 - Screenshots for Gameloft's Terminator Salvation game, set to be released just in time for the movie next, recently wowed iPhone enthusiasts with their sharp visuals. Having finally played the game for myself, I can confirm that those are not bullshots -- the game looks outrageously good. In one scene set in a ruined San Francisco, I could read the highway signs hanging above a stretch of cratered asphalt. The character models for John Connor, the Terminator, and another person I am hesitant to mention because I don't want to spoil one of the movie's most crucial twists are nicely detailed. The way a smashed Terminator pulls itself along the ground at you looks just like it did in the first film.

It really is an exceptional-looking game.

It should be, too, because the game was obviously built on top of the Brothers in Arms engine, which was one of Gameloft's early iPhone hits, lauded for its impressive graphics. One of my chief concerns with BiA, though, was the uneven controls. And because Terminator is built on top of that engine, I was quite concerned that clumsy touch controls would get in the way of me blasting some T-600s. After going hands-on with the game, I am relieved that the on-foot controls have been tweaked.

There are a number of control options, but I had the easiest time moving John is hand with a virtual stick on the left. To aim, drag a finger around the screen. As you are moving, dragging a finger in one direction arcs Connor's running. There is a snap-to lock for firing, so when you're target cursor locks on to a Terminator and turns red, tap the on-screen firing button to take it down. Headshots are the best method of dispatching one of the T-600s. If you shoot one in half with body shots, you have to then contend with a crawling Terminator programmed to kill until its power core dies.

Salvation has driving stages, too. There are multiple control options such as tilt, a virtual-wheel, and on-screen accelerator and drag steering. (All of these take getting used to -- some more than others.) The driving stage I played sent me into downtown San Fran to face down harder metal monsters, like the T1s, which are beastly bots on tank treads. There are actually several Terminators to deal with in Salvation, including the spider-like T325 which was designed specifically for the game, and giant boss robots that cap each of the game's eight stages. Most T-models you destroy drop microchips that should be collected to unlock bonuses, such as concept art.

My time with Terminator Salvation was short, but it was impossible to walk away unimpressed with the production values. This game looks top-notch. It closely follows the story of the movie, lets you pick up some major firepower like a chaingun from a T1, and the Terminators are indeed compelling enemies. Control will be what makes or breaks this game. Check back to IGN Wireless soon for a full review from the final version of the game.

For when the girls danced with our Danny

Postby goodugg32 on Wed Aug 18, 2010 11:59 pm

No other guy stood a chance when Dan attended the local dance,
For when the girls danced with our Danny,
His tool kept tickling round their fanny.
The girls began to faint and swoon as Danny waltzed them round the room,
But what a shock they had in stall,
For one night dancing round the hall,
Danny stopped and loudly cursed,
He?d felt the string and strapping burst.
Before he?d reached the nearest seat, his tool was dangling at his feet,

Pink UGG Handbag
A girl named Silvia made Dan sick for she gave his tool a spiteful kick,
Poor Danny?s screams ran round the hall,
For the string was tied round one of his balls.
Of course by now the band was crackers,
While in the gents Dan bathed his knackers.

So if you?re like poor Daniel Morgan,
And have a tiny sexual organ,
Remember though it?s only wee,
It?s always good enough, just to Pee!!

What might that be

Postby goodugg32 on Fri Aug 20, 2010 3:23 pm

A nun walks into a bus and sits behind the driver and says, "I have just one regret before I die,"

The bus driver asks "What might that be?", she says "I have never had sex, but I can't have sex with a married man or that would be a sin."

The bus driver says, "I'm not married"

The nun says, "I have to die a virgin so I will have to take it in my ass".

Being the only two in the bus they went to the back and took care of business.

The circus owner was so impressed

Postby goodugg32 on Thu Sep 09, 2010 2:09 am

A circus owner walked into a shop to see everyone crowded around a table watching a little show. On the table was an upside down pot and a duck tap dancing on it. The circus owner was so impressed that he offered to buy the duck from its owner.

After some wheelin' and dealin' they settled for $10,000 for the duck and the pot.

Three days later the circus owner runs back to the shop in anger, "Your duck is a rip-off! I put him on the pot before a whole audience and he didn't dance a single step!"

"Hmmm...." thought the duck's former owner. "Did you remember to light the candle under the pot?"
